2021 wrap-up

2021 wrap-up

Another year gone and what a year it has been.

2021 was certainly a large project year for me, creating another collection for presentation.  I was fortunate enough to receive funding by the Toowoomba Arts Footprint project (to the tune of $20K) to explore an artistic concept.  That's a chunk of change!

My project focussed on the history of women's undergarments from 1890 through to 2000, specifically garment styles which I had not yet explored, to expand my catalogue of designs and experience in different techniques.  Needless to say, there were a few corset designs in there that I had lusted over for many years and this project gave me the freedom to give them a try.

I also involved the wonderful performers from Bombshell Burlesque, so the finished garments had grateful homes to go to and wouldn't linger in my closet for years to come.

Special mentions also go to

My mentor and co-presenter for the showcase evening, Thuy Nguyen, Director and Fashion360 CEO, the driving force behind my career progression in the fashion industry.

Miss Topaz of Pole Angels, who stepped in at short notice to perform at the showcase evening.
